Nice simple park - no showers, club house or pool...but plenty for $20.

Very easy to get in, however, there is no turn around, you have to go back through other spaces to get out. $20 a night rate is excellent. You can put your payment into an envelope and drop it into the deposit box.

Great place to stay friendly atmosphere phone service is poor in the area at least for Verizon so that sucks but that's not the parks fault. Great prices and if you need help there great at helping. Free wifi and I mean great wifi.

A very nice RV park.

This rather spacious RV park on the eastern side of the town of Ft. Sumner. It happens to be the only one in town and is owner and operated by the Sweet's who own the Billy the Kid museum down the street. It is inexpensive and although the senior Mr. Sweet told me there were 'no amenities' that is not entirely true. It's the first RV park that boasts free Wifi to actually deliver...and it's fast. Maybe that's because at this time of year there aren't very many people here (amenity #2 as far as I'm concerned). The spaces are large, so even if it was full, you'd have some elbow room.Amenity #3 - trees. The spaces further from the road have trees large enough to provide shade...something else I appreciate. #4 - it's quiet. Okay it's on the road and you can hear trucks and trains. I like trains so that's not a problem. I love the sound of a train going by...but none of it kept me from getting a good nights sleep. The 'residents' - long term renters- are quiet too. Finally, the Billy the Kid museum (#5) was a pleasant surprise. Truly a roadside gem. I came to visit Bosque Redondo and had no idea that Billy the Kid was killed within the walls of the old Ft. Sumner only a few years after the Navajo people returned to their homeland. His girlfriends father bought Ft. Sumner and started a ranch. Billy hung out and hid out in this area and was apparently beloved by the locals. Pat Garrett came looking for him....
